Captive Portal, lan

this project is to enable a small private wan to display information to users when they try to access the internet.

requirements are to be able to display a page of information that is only displayed to that user once in a preset time period, once the user has seen the page he wont see it again until the preset time has elapsed.

several pages of information can be selected from the operators drop down list if required.

this should run under cent os

## Deliverables

This is what i am trying to do.

The operator logs into a web baised interface and selects a page of information to display to the users from a drop down list. This list will be "none" page 1, page 2, etc

if "none" is selected, the captive portal does nothing.

He then selects the number of times that the page is displayed in a given time period. ie: twice a day, once a week, once a month. etc

A user on the network, opens a browser to look at the internet. the captive portal program opens a page of information for the user to view, on this page is a big button "*continue what you were doing*" if the user clicks on the button he is directed to the web site he origonaly requested and his mac address is entered into the database of people that have viewed the information,

if this user now closes his browser and reopens it, the captive portal page is not displayed until the operators preset time has elapsed.

after the preset time the database is reset. and the user will once again see the information page.
