Simple Java CV Builder Program

Project Background: It can be both difficult and time consuming for non-technical people to design a CV for themselves. I require a web system in Java to record details of a person's education and career. This information then needs to be used to produce a CV in the form of an XHTML document. Project Tasks: ? Design and implement a Java application which displays a welcome screen and requires the user to log on to proceed with the application. ? Incorporating a variety of components such as the use of buttons, check boxes, radio buttons, scroll bars, text boxes, list boxes etc in order to make the user interface attractive and functional. ? Allow the user to enter or amend his details using one or more forms. ? When all of the required information has been entered the user must be able to choose from a variety of styles for his finished CV. ? The application must generate the CV in XHTML (strict DTD) and save it to a file which may be viewed with a browser. ? The system must allow its characteristics to be altered if the user has a visual impairment. ? The program MUST be developed in JPadPro. There must absolutely be no generated code from other IDE's. ? Write a user manual which describes the behaviour of the system. ? All data should be stored in simple files. Do not use a database.

Deliverables:

1) Project Criteria

- The Java program required needs to be an application and NOT an applet.

- The JPadPro program must be used to develop the system (no generated code from IDE)

- The application MUST produce XHTML (which passes the strict criteria on W3C). This must be validated.

- The program should prompt for the following information to provide a CV

Personal Details: Name, DOB, Tel, Mobile, Email, Addr, Photo (attachment upload)

- The application must be easy to use by non-technical people, assistance needs to be provided to the user in completing the form through helpful dialogs on each section.

- The application should have an attractive user but functional interface, incorporating components such as buttons, check boxes, radio buttons, scroll bars, list boxes

- The program or system should allow the user to come back at a later stage to complete their CV (use of login/password will be required)

- When the user has supplied all the required information, the Java application must produce a file in XHTML with CSS which will display the information in a formal and attractive way through use of the browser. User should be provided with alternate styles to display the CV also.

- The application will be used by people with visual impairment also - so the interface must have the ability to change the font size, style of font and background color. A menu system will be required to do this and the settings must be remembered for each user so that when they log on, the user interface uses these settings (in doing this a database must NOT be used, instead a file should be used)

2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

3) A user manual which briefly describes behaviour of system and includes screen dumps of the application. A clear description of how to run the application is required and there cannot be any installation procedure.

4) A printable file of all the source code

5) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
