session_start(); Causing input in Form - Page Will Not W3C Validate

This one will be simple for some one but I am tired trying to find the solution.

I am getting this statement in my when I use session_start(); in the document.

If I remove the session_start(); of the is not parsed into the document.

I have apache pass my .html files off to have them parsed for PHP code.

My page is XHTML 1.0 stict so having a statement right after the statement gives a w3c validation error.

XHTML 1.0 stict requires that you have a

before all statements or it will not validate.

Any one know how to stop this line. I have added a .htaccess file to the folder that the file is in. This is the contents of the .htaccess file.

I need a fix for this that doesn't don't require any changes on the server site pass ones made in the .htaccess.

If session_start(); has to be removed that is fine if you can fix the code on this page so it still works.
