Key system for sofware

Software key project. This project is to make a system to create a security key for software. I need a method to write a file to a USB memory drive that is hidden and not easily located and modified. This woild include a ? method for the software app to read this file and the data in it. The file written on the USB drive, must be hidden and not easily edited, erased or copied to another memory drive. The software key must be secure. The key file on the memory drive can not be copied to another USB memory drive.? The project includes delivering an app that can read the key file from the memory drive and verify the contents.? Both the app that creates the hidden key file on the USB drive and the app that reads the key file and verifies it must be written in c/c++ visual studio 2008
