Customer Service/Support

I run the customer service department of a larger business and provide phone support, field service, depot repair and spare parts. We have a homegrown MS Access Xp database that we use to track phone/remote support requests. I want to expand this system to handle field service reports, RMA, depot repair, inventory and asset tracking. We have an existing system supported by corporate IT (Oracle based) that handles all order processing, procurement, accounting, timekeeping. This system will not be changed, but would like the possibility to import batch data generated from it. The new system does not need to stay as an Access but would like to stay with a system that is a simple to use and modify. One complication is that I can not expect any support from our IT department to install and support any executables on their servers. The system will either need to be able to run off a file server using a MS office application for the interface (as is now using MS Access) or will have to be hosted outside the corporate firewall. I am willing to look at hosting, but would rather avoid the admin responsibility. Any suggestions for a platform to meet this need would be appreciated. The job will be put to bid once platform is decided.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
