Several months ago our team began a small and simple multiplayer fighting game for the internet. The animator successfully did all the 2d characters animations. Title graphic and logo was done. The musician done 1 out of the 3 musics. 1 out of the 3 animated background was done. And finally progress with the coding was made, but stalled mid-way. The project has stalled 2 months ago and showed nearly no progress as the coder seem to lack knowledges to finish his part.
So I come here, in hope to find a replacement, someone who know well how to optimize networking code since we need optimal speed. We expect the packet exchange between the clients to be around 0.3 second. If you don't know how to optimize a network system to match such speed, please don't bid on this project.
Details:
-Half finished code is in C++, yet we also have a version in FLASH for beta testing the animations but nearly nothing is done for that version. You can choose to make this game in either C++ or Flash. Please specify in your bid which version you choose.
-The project involve 3 characters(each using 10 set of animation involving 3-6 frames each), 3 background(3-6 frames each), 3 music,1 server(Freebsd linux with Apache).
-The game need 1 login screen, 1 setting screen offering to choose between 2 resolutions and other graphic performance setting you see fit, 1 battle room selection screen, 1 character selection screen, 1 battle screen.
-Battle selection rooms is a list of all pending games needing a partner. Clicking on the partner display the number of victory and defeat he/she have. Double-clicking start the battle. Or the player can decide to start a new room , thus being added to the list, waiting for a partner.
-battle involve 10 possible actions. Each action use a fatigue meter, to prevent the player from abusing special move. There is a health bar as well for both players and finally a timer.
-Server side exist only to authenticate the login, provide a database of existing pending battles and host the IP of both participants. Once the battle begin, data has to be transfered between both participant directly to optimize [login to view URL] can use any server side language which doesn't involve pre-executing from server side and permanent running. Database has to be MYSQL.
-To permit the fighters to chat between each other and to host public battles where people can watch would be a nice addition but is NOT a requirement.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
