I am a university professor of chemical engineering with more than 30 years of experience and a broad and versatle knowledge of science, technology. I have obtained the following university degrees: Chemical Engineer, Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and Doctorate in Fundamental and Applied Electrochemistry. Has been doing research work in two different areas in chemical process in the optimization and development of separation processes in the alimentary industry, and in deterioration of metallic materials, especially in research applied to the solution of problems in the national oil industry in the evaluation of inhibitors of corrosionof metallic material.Also, I have researched and taught undergraduate and graduate courses related to chemistry, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, chemical kinetics, catalysis, heavy oils, materials and corrosion engineering.

The objective of this reseaech is to study the P-110 carbon steel behavior under temperature and partial pressure of CO2 at production string to determine operational conditions under which this steel may be used with or whithout any commercial inhibitor. Results show, on the one hand, that for P-110 steels, the corrosion rates decreasens when temperature increases over 150 , and on the other, that the inhibitor is degraded at the temperature, loossing its effectiveness to control CO2 corrosion.

The Thermal behavior of a commercial inhibitor was evaluated simulating well conditions at hight CO2 concentrations. to evaluate tehe thermal stability, the inhibitor was heated up to 250 C at 300 psi CO2 partial presure during five hours. After the test, Nitrogen distribution in the vapor phase and in the liquid phse were alalyzed: Simulated destilation, Thermogravimetric analysis, Gel permeation chromatography (GPH).The results showed that the inhibitor thermal degradation.
