Quality Assurance Specialist I, IT Dept.
Report to Quality Assurance Manager
Works with the Quality Assurance Manager, Project Management, and the Development Team to ensure the quality of the products offered to our customers will meet the business requirements requested through review of system changes and deficiency [login to view URL] on getting job description
1. Receive and analyze business analysis document to gather requirements necessary to create test scripts that mimic current business
practices.
2. Provide feedback detailing current processes that suffice the need, if available, or recommend alternate system modifications where
applicable.
3. Create test plans for smaller projects, and provide test estimates from test plans that have been created.
4. Able to maintain the highest level of quality assurance best practices using QAI Standards, and the company’s Software Development Life
Cycle.
5. Review detailed documents prepared by programmers and recommend approval and/or changes.
6. Maintain, update, and execute unit testing scripts and scenarios to ensure that individual software modifications function as expected.
7. Execute system testing scripts and scenarios for regression testing to ensure that individual modifications function properly in conjunction
with existing software systems.
8. Identify, measure severity, and document deficiencies in software functionality, and accurately report deficiencies to programming agencies.
9. Assist in User Acceptance Testing when necessary, and recommend certification of software changes for use by location users in the field
once the software meets the business requirements.
10. Assist in demonstrating software changes to business owners prior to software deployment into Production.
11. Able to use QA Tools (Quality Center, Quick Test Pro, etc.) to perform work related activities.
12. Other duties as assigned by company management.
Experience and Qualification :
1. Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business related field or Associate’s degree with 2 or more years of
job specific experience.
2. Minimum experience required: 1 year Quality Assurance experience, 2 years experience with PC and other computer systems, 2 years
operations experience with corporate systems (HR, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.). Experience in relational database testing, data integrity
testing, and black box testing.
3. Special skills required— Excellent verbal and written skills. Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences in
written and non-written formats.
4. Special knowledge required-- MS Office programs (Word?, Excel?, Access?). Experience with HP Open View?, SAP, and Custom
Warehouse Management Systems are also desired. Working knowledge of ITIL processes and Mercury Testing Tools (Quality Center,
Quick Test Pro, LoadRunner).
5. Other: Ability to work in significant time constraints, communication between all levels of organization
