As a US/European-based publisher of eBooks and related online content (newsletter articles, blog posts, etc.), we are looking for a skilled, English-language content writer(s) for occasional, ongoing projects.
Most of our writing needs fall within two categories: health and wellness, and emergency preparedness and survival. Demonstrable experience in these realms is a plus. Typical projects will be small, newsletter-sized articles, although we have several larger eBook projects (75-plus pages) that we are looking to assign to a writer who has proven his or her ability. Indeed, the ideal candidate will be equally adept at producing both short-form articles and long-form eBooks.
Immediate Project:
As a first project, we need written a somewhat technical, yet easily accessible and digestible, article of roughly 3,000 words about Mayan culture and engineering – in particular we need to explain the functioning of the Mayan Calendar. There is, of course, an abundance of source material out there online on this topic, but our demands require a unique article that will pass Copyscape and contain footnoted sources. An ability to create custom graphics that correspond with your article and make it more “readable”, yet are free of copyright issues, is considered a huge plus! We will pay an additional amount for original images. The document will be delivered in both Word and PDF formats, and include title page, TOC, and sources page, as well as external hyperlinks and internal indexing.
Follow-up Project:
If successfully completed, we intend to offer the writer a second, long-form eBook project which is, in essence, a how-to survival guide. If you know anything about, or have interest in, topics ranging from starting fires and creating shelters to finding food in the wilderness to purifying water, this project may be for you.
+ You must have mother-tongue fluency in English, which will be reflected in amazingly, fault-free writing ability.
+ You should be able to write about factual topics using an engaging, contemporary and conversational style.
+ You should a whiz at research, as well as extremely sensitive to creating work that does not violate copyright laws. All submitted work will be verified by Copyscape.
+ You should be able to create intelligent, intuitive and visually pleasing page layouts in both Word and PDF formats, incorporating linked indexing, external hyperlinks, footnotes and various image formats.
+ As indicated above, an ability to create compelling, professional grade graphics is a plus.
+ You should be resourceful, self-motivated, and willing to respect commitments and deadlines. You should also be able to follow instructions and know how to incorporate feedback in a collaborative environment.
