Modify layout of Joomla Component

We are using a component called Mosets Tree on our Joomla site to display products and want to change the style of the listing page. The page is here: [login to view URL]
There are two pieces that need to be changed: the filter module and the main component layout.
1. Changes to Filter Module
- We want this to have a horizontal layout, similar to the one at the top of this site: [login to view URL]
- Change the work 'Search' to 'Keyword Search'
- Make each field smaller, only numbers will be entered here so they don't need to be as large.
- Fields should be responsive so they will expand or contract to fill the available space.
- Labels for each field should stay above the input fields.
- At 1100px wide the form should switch to a single column view, similar to this site on smaller screens: [login to view URL]
- Do not make changes to the core module, use Joomla template overrides
2. Changes to Main Display
- We want this to be more like a table view, similar to this: [login to view URL]
- The top will have a single header row with the column names:

Freq. Range Start (GHz)
Freq. Range Stop (GHz)
Gain (dB)
Gain Flatness (dB)
Noise Figure (dB)
VSWR Input (:1)
VSWR Output (:1)
P@1dB (dBm)
- The 'New' tag will still be displayed next to the product name in each column
- remove the 'Reviews' and stars from the listing
- Each row should alternate colors to make it easier to read (grey/white)
- The table should be responsive and adjust to fill the available space, for very small screens the font size may need to be reduced
- Changes to CSS should be made in /theme/css/[login to view URL], not the main theme css file
- Changes to Mosets Tree should not be made to the main template, duplicate the main template and make changes there. Instructions for that are here: [login to view URL]
