Continuous Futures Contract in MySQL

I need a select script which finds the row with the max value (open interest) in one column and return that row for each date. There are some extra things which need to be added. The script may not chose a contract which already have been dropped once. E.g. if the September contract have been dropped and the October contract is the new one. The script may not choose the September contract even if the open interest raise above the contract in October.
In other words a script which create a continuous future contract with open interest roll over.
