Extract products from a suppliers website into virtuemart

We have permission from one of our suppliers to extract the products from their website in order for us to resell them online.

They will not provide direct access to their database.

The website is password protected, and needs credentials entered before displaying the prices, otherwise it just states please login. The images all have a watermark in the middle in the same location, this needs to replaced automatically by your system to have ours.

The platform we are going to be using is virtumart, running on joomla. We need the extraction to do the following:

1. Run once a week (automatically) to update our database for new products and remove old ones no longer being sold – stock levels do not need to be included

2. Automatically extract the information from the host site and populate the categories within the database and site (See categories Jpeg)

3. Automatically extract the information from the host site and update the product title, description and general information. (See datamined image)

4. Automatically extract the prices from the host site and add a custom amount to it, I.e if the host site sells the item to us for £10 we want to be able to add a markup i.e £2 so our site sells it for £12. (See datamined image)

5. Automatically extract the product images from the host site and place our watermark over them and store them on our database. (See datamined image)

6. Automatically add the part numbers to the description (see part jpeg).

So for the images provided I would need the following information mined:

We only need the catergories and products entered into virtuemart. The web site design will be dealt with elsewhere, this is purely to get the products into our database and getting the products automatically populating.

A hosting platform with joomla installed will be provided as well as details to access the host site.
