Database expert to merge non-identical CSV files using script
Merge 2 CSV files as following:
We have 2 CSV files. The first file has the following records: "company name, first name, last name,tel"
The second file was generated from another database and has the following records: "company name, first name, last name, website"
The order from the second file does not correspond to the order from the first file as they were generated from 2 different databases. The second file does not contain all companies from the first file and the contact names (first name, last name) may be different.
What you need to do: you need to add the "website" to the first file by using a simple script to search for each identical "company name, first name, last name" occurrence in the second file, and if found; save the record corresponding "website" and insert it to the first file.
or use another method of your liking to get the same result.
The final file will have to be: "company name, first name, last name, tel, website"
This is a very simple project for someone who knows how to do it and that should not take more than an hour to complete.
