Small Actionscript Job - Ensuring existing functionality is consistent

We have a Flash applet that displays items from some xml files that contain information associated with each item, including a buying page URL. When a user clicks an item, the applet sends a clickref to Affiliate Window and the buying page opens up in a new window or tab. Usually the clickref shows up in our Affiliate Window account, but sometimes the click shows but the clickref is blank. This bid is to find out why the clickref sometimes does not get transfered, and if possible solve the problem.

1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No 3rd party components unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
