PROJECT:
I’m looking for an experienced digital coloring artist for my project.
The project I’m working on is a manga/comic book series.
It has a Japanese style of storytelling and artwork.
The telling and art work, like most manga, are divided in multiple panels.
This can change from 1 till 10 panels each page.
There will be 5 till 8 pages each month. (every month the total number of pages will be different).
The style I like it to have is somewhat like the traditional colored manga, mostly done with Copic markers. (Japanese/Chinese style).
So a manga colored style but then made digitally.
The manga I am creating needs an professional artist, not only in coloring but also in communication and someone who knows how to stick to deadlines. Sticking to Deadlines and great communication is crucial.
DEADLINE:
For this project I need 7 pages colored before September 10th.
Every month 5 - 8 pages finished up around every first week of the month.
SPECIFICS:
The lineart will be EPS vector files. Which makes it a lot easier to color.
Sometimes there are backgrounds added to a panel and sometimes they are left out. This means that you will have to create a background on your own. Mostly skies and clouds. Off course there will be some lines to help you visualize it.
The files have to be created in CMYK coloring for printing.
PREVIEW:
Before I hire you, I need a preview of your talent.
In the attachments you find a ZIP that contains some other manga coloring styles that I like for inspiration and stylization.
And I added a finished manga page that I’ve already colored but not in "the manga style" I want. This page looks more like a cartoon/anime. It looks nice, but it’s not the style I’m looking for, but you'll have an idea of what colors you have to use. I would like you to color this page or at least panel 5 and 7 with the same colors I used but with the new manga coloring style.
In the ZIP file you will also find the lineart for that page in EPS file.
I will need to see the colored preview asap because the deadline is very short.
PAYMENT:
If you get the job you will also get paid for this preview page.
The payment is $ 10.00 for each page. (It could be 1 or 10 panels, the price for each page will stay the same unless it's a really complicated artwork with a lot of details. Then you will get $ 5.00 extra.)
The payment will be done after completion of all pages within that month.
