Create Photoshop Templates using Clipping Masks and Smart Objects

I need eight PSD files creating for me to use as templates for positioning images and text.

I make edible cake toppers and want to make it as easy as possible to drag and drop images into position and to copy one or more images/text into pre-set positions in the templates.

I have been advised that maybe the best way to do this is through the use of clipping masks and smart objects.

I had originally thought of using actions but I do not really mind what method is used so long as it makes it a lot easier for me to use them :)

I have attached a word file with additional info in and screenshots.

Please do not place a bid without having a look at this first as I want to know that you have read and understand what I am asking for.

If you could post a reply with what method you will use to create the templates that would be helpful ie Smart Objects, actions, clipping masks etc

I am not 100% sure about this so it would be helpful to let me know that you have the right ideas for me.

I would also like a brief file to be created (or video recording of screen) to show me how to use the template - this only has to be done for one template just so I get a good idea of what to do!

I am 'OK' with Photoshop once I have been shown how to do something, but not great with it without this prior knowledge!
