I need a mysql based ftp server implemented according to the latest rfc specs for ftp.

The concept is simple. Users create various categories and directories on my system with an interactive web-application. They nest categories similar to the way that windows explorer permits them to - hierarchially.

However, their files are dispersed across many servers, and all of this is stored in the database.

There are 4 core parts to this project:

1) We will have a php script or perl script that generates an xml file of all the categories (category tree) that the user has.

1a) Each category has sub-categories, and files in each corresponding category.

2) When a user authenticates, the ftp authentication process should pass username and password parameters to a php file, which will return a boolean value if the user entered valid credentials.

3) After authentication the user should be able to traverse the category tree through any ftp client, as if it were a physical file system, but really you will be generating a fake folder/file hiearchy, based on the data in the xml files.

4) Transfer. If a user wants to download a folder, folders, or files, you just parse out the locations of the those files on the network (which is in the xml file, that you'll request for that category) and you'll stream that file or folder to the user.

## Deliverables

The server should be super fast, scalable, and efficiently written. We should have a server config file, where the server can run as a daemon through /etc/init.d/customftp start/stop/restart

The server does not need logging implemented.

The server should be object oriented.

The server should be multi-threaded.

The server shuold be

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

c, c++, perl, php, or java on unix centos 5 32 and 64bit
