## BIO
**Background**
Started programming at a very early age, I had first formal lesson in computing in ’91. Through the years, I have programmed on Macintosh, MS-DOS, UNIX V, Windows9X/2000/XP platforms using mainly C/C++ and Visual C++ programming languages. I have also done a lot of programming using web-based technologies including ASP and JSP. In databases, MS SQL Server is my stronghold. I have keen interest in image processing and algorithm development. My peers and colleagues rated me as the best problem solver and algorithm developer. I rate my algorithm developing ability as my top strength.
**Education**
**Aug ’97 – May ’01 Computer Systems Engineering**
Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan
**Oct ’96 – Jun ’97 [login to view URL]. Pre-Engineering,**
The City School, Capital Campus Islamabad, Pakistan
**Oct ’91 – Jun ’95 International Baccalaureate Middle Years’ Programme,**
Vienna International School, Vienna, Austria
**Professional Projects**
· **PetroBank C/C++, Uniface, Oracle 8i, AIX, IBM Nettape, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager**
The PetroBank manages bulk seismic, well, production and other technical information at a corporate, regional or national level for rapid distribution to a network of clients. It's a modular, scalable, multi-client system that provides access to huge amounts of data in an efficient and secure environment. Data is delivered in real-time on the user's desktop, enabling rapid identification and loading/unloading of business-critical information.
· **Man-Machine Language (MML) MS Visual C++, Oracle 8i**
This application is part of the application suite for managing Paktel’s Intelligent Network (IN) system. It provides a direct access to the IN through establishing a direct socket connection to the IN system. It would be used by a person with administrative rights for managing customer information.
· **System Interface MS Visual C++, Oracle 8i**
This application is part of the application suite for managing Paktel’s Intelligent Network (IN) system. It provides a direct access to the IN through the interface tables in the Oracle database. It would be used by a person with administrative rights for managing customer information.
· **Remote Desktop Viewing MS Visual C++**
This application was completed in a record time of 3 weeks. I was the only resource working on this application. It included building a client server model, defining the communication protocol between the client and server, implementing JPEG compression, and building some customizations based on image quality and region-based transfer. I did not have any prior knowledge of JPEG compression and still managed to implement it completely.
· **Interactive Voice Response System MS Visual C++, SQL Server**
I was the team lead on this project. This is a complete prepaid calling card system with standard options. The application has a very flexible and robust architecture allowing easy maintenance and enhancements. This also included interfacing with an L3 switch. I visited Nigeria for the deployment of this system.
· **Wireless Phone Billing System MS Visual C++, SQL Server**
I was the team
