I asked Yazan to write it up as I was wanted to see a second version from someone else and his version was superb. He actually re-wrote and illustrated the project. Done with minimal communication. Thank you Yazan, a job extremely well done. I see that I cannot submit a comment unless I fill out all 5 sectors, this is not right as I really have no idea what Yazan's "Expertise" is, but I do know his 'work' is very good.

The inhibitory activity of cocoa phenolic extract against pro‑inflammatory mediators secretion

SpringerPlus
Cocoa is a rich source of polyphenols that has been traditionally used as the treatment of several types of inflammation related disease. The response to inflammation comprises the consecutive release of mediators and the enlistment of circulating leukocytes, such as macrophages. Currently, Cocoa-derived polyphenolics have shown anti-inflammatory effects in vivo, but the therapeutic benefits in vitro remain unclear.

The Protective Effect of Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) in Colon Cancer

Nutrition & FoodSciences
Colon cancer is considered one of the primary causes of death-related cancer in Western universe. Although it is recommended in most of advanced cases of this disease, cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents are relatively become ineffectual. Increasing the dietary intake of fruits and vegetables in order to reduce this disease is thought to be a viable and alternative path. Polyphenols are commonly found in cocoa beans and cocoa products.

Influence of Demethylation Pathway on the Differentiation Potential of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Stem Cell Research & Therapy
Osteoporosis is associated with a decrease in the commitment of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) to the bone forming osteoblast lineage and an increase in the commitment to the fat forming adipocyte lineage in bone marrow of elderly persons. A link between methylation pathway and MSC differentiation remains unclear. Therefore, we hypothesize that alterations in the commitment and differentiation potential of MSC during osteoporosis may be mediated by modification of global methylation pathway.

Epidemiology of obesity in developing countries: Challenges and prevention

Global Epidemic Obesity
Almost all countries are facing obesity endemic, although great variation exists between and within countries. Sedentary lifestyle and high fat (high caloric) diet have increased globally as a result of industrial, urban and mechanic changes of developing countries. Improved economic status promotes the obesity and metabolic syndrome in all age groups particularly young adults. Developing counties became in need for establishing new polices and strategies within regulated and managed programs.

Role of fish oil in human health and possible mechanism to reduce the inflammation

Inflammopharmacology
The roles of Omega-3 FAs are inflammation antagonists, while Omega-6 FAs are precursors for inflammation. The plant form of Omega-3 FAs is the short-chain α-linolenic acid, and the marine forms are the long-chain fatty acids: docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid. Omega-3 FAs have unlimited usages, and they are considered as omnipotent since they may benefit heart health, improve brain function, reduce cancer risks and improve people's moods

Crosstalk between ROS and pro-inflammatory markers in developing various chronic diseases

Journal of Applied Biological Chemistry
Inflammation and ROS have been considered the main initiator of developing chronic diseases such as cancer, CVD, T2D, and arthritis

Modulation of innate and adaptive immune responses by arabinoxylans

Journal of Food Biochemistry
Humans are exposed to harmful pathogens and a wide range of noxious substances every day. The immune system reacts to, and destroys, these pathogens and harmful substances. The immune system is composed of innate and adaptive immunity, which liaise to protect the host and maintain health. Foods, especially cereals, have been reported to modulate the immune response.

extrusion screw-speed on the water extractability and molecular weight distribution of arabinoxylans

Journal of Food Science and Technology
Arabinoxylans (AXs) are major dietary fibre in cereals. Recently, AXs have attracted a great deal of attention because of their biological activities. These activities have been suggested to be related to the content of low molecular weight (Mw) AXs, in particular those with Mw below 32 kDa.

the extractability of arabinoxylans using extrusion processing

Journal of Cereal Science
Cereal derived arabinoxylans (AXs) are non-starch polysaccharides that have immunomodulatory activities. These activities are thought to be related to the low molecular weight fractions of AXs. Wheat and wheat by-products are rich in AXs, however, the water extractable fraction of AXs in wheat products is low.

Stingless bee honey protects against chronic subclinical systemic inflammation

Nutrition & Metabolism
Epidemiological and experimental studies have extensively indicated that chronic subclinical systemic inflammation (CSSI) and oxidative stress are risk factors for several chronic diseases, including cancer, arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. This study examined the protective effect of stingless bee honey (SBH) supplementation against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced CSSI, pointing to the possible involvement of NF-κB, p38 MAPK and Nrf2 signaling.
