I've been writing since I was old enough to hold a pencil.
My mother is a retired English teacher. Because of this, I'm very well skilled in the art of noticing grammar and spelling errors fairly easily. In fact, I've spotted imperfections and almost invisible errors on some of the most highly esteemed company websites and brochures.
Over the years, I've done freelance writing for many people, on many topics. Technically, I would be considered a professional writer, but I love it too much to refer to myself as such. Writing is more of a passion to me. Therefore, calling myself a professional makes it sound more like a mandatory career, rather than an exciting adventure. I think of writing as a form of expression and a release of stress, not an unwilling chore.
I'm not limited to just writing either. I am beginning to discover that I have many talents in the branding industry as well. So, if you need the perfect domain or name for your business, I guarantee you a memorable one that flows perfectly with your intentions.
I've also recently found another thing that I have a knack for. I was recently recruited and hired (by mistake) to do the voices of various animated characters for a youtube video. When I say "by mistake", I really mean "accidentally". I found out after I completed my first project. The client revealed to me that due to my previously completed tasks, I was placed on their list of potential candidates to hire as a ghostwriter for a future project. Well, the client admitted to choosing me for the voiceover role with the intention of hiring me for the ghostwriter position. She clicked on the wrong project, lol! She said that she didn't have the heart to dismiss me since I immediately accepted an intimidating offer that was far out of my league of expertise. She admired my confidence so much that she secretly had me on a "trial run" because she didn't think I'd be the right person for the job. Well, to sum up: Not only did she hire me (with a contract) to complete her entire video series, but I was also hired as her full time ghostwriter. :)
The moral of this story is: As a freelancer, I've learned to step out of my common comfort realm. I've gained the confidence of knowing that all it takes is effort. It never hurts to try something new and expand your horizons. I have discovered many hidden talents within myself, simply by accepting a job that I had no experience in, (that intimidated me to the core lol) and was chosen for by accident. :)
I promise that you will not regret giving me that same chance. I know that I can accomplish anything. I appreciate the opportunity to prove how bright the Dawn can actually shine. I look forward to working with you.
