Passionate about technology and its application to solve real world business problems. Throughout my career I have held several positions within legal, compliance and technology industries. Coming from a technology and engineering background, my first experience in the compliance industry began early on my professional career, with roles mainly focused on the technology side of compliance and quality assurance across Mexico, United States and the EU. My interest for technology and its application within the compliance industry led me to join Cisco’s Technical Intelligence Operations in late 2007. At Cisco, I held several positions within the Legal and Compliance organization, were I was initially tasked with the forensic analysis and authentication of Software and Networking products. I later moved on and co-founded and lead Cisco’s Data Intelligence team, which is the technical group responsible for the development and acquisition of intelligence, data mining and analysis tools to support brand protection investigations. By 2016 I managed the development and acquisition of in-house and third-party systems and processes to support the efficiency and accuracy of Legal and Compliance Operations for which I received the operational excellence award. In recent years I led channel compliance efforts for Cisco's Brand Protection across EMEAR South and BeNeLux. Auditing distribution partnerships and end customers through contractual compliance enforcement, AML, KYC, financial crime prevention and sanctions compliance. Since 2022 I am managing Amazon’s Last Mile operational and regulatory risk profile as a senior manager and country lead for the Risk and Compliance organization, responsible for conducting proactive compliance risk assessments and driving forward improvements to enable growth the right way.
