I am a lawyer at a law firm. We could save a lot of time if we could automate the generation of semi-customized letters, rather than starting from a template that had many customization options.
I would like to set up a questionnaire, that asks the lawyer about the parameters of the transaction in question and then uses the responses to generate a Word-format letter. For example, the provisions of a letter about an equity deal are different to the provisions of a debt deal, so if the lawyers indicates "equity", the letter should include all of the equity-relevant paragraphs and none of the debt-relevant paragraphs.
Ideally, once set up, it should be easy for laymen to maintain since the wording in these letters changes on a regular basis to account for new laws / practices.
Surely this should be easy enough for someone in the know to achieve?
