General ========= We’re looking for a website design of e-commerce site with both purchasable and free e-books, manuals and documents. Your task is to design the website. Our logo is in an attachment and Your design should nicely match it. Let’s start with pages We like: [login to view URL] - their document page, not home page. For example [login to view URL] [login to view URL] (product page, We like general look of [login to view URL] and design of sidebox column) [login to view URL] - their home page, category listing design, NOT document view page Please note that We don’t require page as complicated as newegg, We simply like the design. General requirements: ========= - header of the page should be small, 150, 180 px max, - the page should look fine on mobile devices (tablets, smartphones), - use two column layout - one for main content and one for buttons, info & other stuff, similar to Scribd [login to view URL]). - reserve about 700px for main content, rest for sideboxes and borders. HTML template requirements: ========= - use 960px grid system, - the less javascript the better, if You absolutely need javascript use latest jQuery, - make use of HTML 5 elements, specifically (but not limited to) header, footer, main, section, nav, placeholder - aim for HTML 5 but provide fallback for older browsers. For example if You use rounded corners use border-radius for HTML 5 capable browsers, moz-radius etc. for older ones, and no rounded corners (instead of images or jscript hacks to simulate them) for obsolete browsers, - use HTML/CSS buttons, use as few images as possible, - prefer HTML5 and DOM over javascript, - Your HTML code must validate. You have to provide template in both EPS or PSD and HTML format (with images, fonts, javascript and any other used resources). We’ll require some additional features (like some popups etc). Header ========= Header should be relatively small, max 180 px. It have to include: - logo, - relatively large search box, - Sign in link, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ icons - language dropdown with flag and language beside it (English, German, French etc.) Footer ========= Footer should have links in three categories: - General (Home, Terms of Service, Privacy, Faqh) - My account (My Account, My Documents, My Orders, Change password, Login) - Contact us (E-Mail, Phone (no link, just phone number), Facebook, Twitter, Google+), Blog Sideboxes ========= There should be one column for sideboxes. Sideboxes should be visually distinctive from each other but still create one whole part (like here: [login to view URL]). You may choose if sideboxes should be on left or right. One sidebox should be “float”, i.e. it should follow user at he scrolls down (like product thumbnail and ‘Download’ button on the left here: [login to view URL]) Some pages might NOT require sideboxes (like home page, account page, login page ) so please keep in mind that design must look nicely without that column. Individual pages ========= You’ll have to create design for following pages: - product page (similar in look & feel & quality to scribd, less complicated than the newegg has) - login page (login with email/password, password forgotten box, login with facebook and like) - my account page (similar to the one amazon has, i.e. grouped into boxes ‘My Account’, ‘My Orders’, ‘My Digital files’ etc) - category listing page ( We have only category names, no images for them, there may be up to 100 subcategories of category) - home page (search box similar to the one on [login to view URL] ), top categories listing, recently added files) - downloads page - very simple, links with description like file size,file name, language of the document, image preview - write review page (simple form with name, rating and description)
