This sounds pretty straight forward to me, no problems getting the mp4 to audio (I can just drag it into my DAW). I would also make sure to deliver a nice, loud and clear audio file. Hi, I am an audio engineer currently signed to Warner Chappell as an arranger. I see you want to have an audio podcast over Skype. While I have not edited podcasts before, I have done voice-over recordings on the side before, and would really like the opportunity to work with you! A few things that I have learnt over the years of audio editing could be worthwhile suggestions: 1) If possible, have each person record into their own microphone. Recording audio over Skype would result in the audio engineer only having one track to mix, which means I can't bring out the best of each host or guest's voice. 2) Pop filters could help prevent the pop sounds when words starting with 'T', 'B', or 'P' are spoken. Though having a simple handkerchief over the mic has a similar effect if on a budget (A tip I learnt when starting out). 3) Having mic checks before the podcast is recorded can avoid unfix-able sounds that are too loud. Regarding the job description, I would like to confirm if this is what the audio engineer would need to do: 1) Obtain all audio tracks or extract from .mp4 file. 2) Listen through and fix issues like loud points and background hiss. 3) Apply processing to make each voice as good as possible. 4) Apply final mix to ensure all voices are balanced.
