CNC Control Program

Gentlemen, We have a need for a CNC Control program for controlling a customized CNC milling center. This program will require the following: 1.) The program will need to open standard DWG and DXF drawing files and "G&M Codes", which are text files containing text instructions. 2.) It will take the data from the files and input it into a large variable array that the other subroutines will work from for faster access. 3.) From that variable array, it will create 2D and 3D simulations of the part being machined. 4.) It will take the data from the array and parse it into data frames that will be sent to a controller w/serial port when the program is run. 5.) Need to be able to modify the G&M code text file and save it. 6.) Large controls will be required because it will be used with a 20" LCD touchscreen. I am not going to kid you here, this is a complex project. It involves an understanding of file structures, variable arrays, graphics generation, 2D and 3D drawing and manipulation, serial port interfacing, GUI design, and a significant amount of math. We will work with you and help you with the GUI and other details. We could do the project in house, but the time would be considerable. This project needs to be programmed in Visual basic 6 or 7. Given the complexity of this, you will have plenty of time. All I ask for is regular updates. We have built a form with the GUI front end already, but no code. This will be provided. We can provide you with manuals for the G&M code language and the motion controller programming language. The code need to be well documented. Good luck gentlemen. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform This program will be used on a pentium 4 with a 20" LCD Touchscreen and Windows XP. It needs to be written in Visual Basic 6 or 7 (.net).
