Powershell script to collect windows logs/metrics and post to https

Hi, This request is 5 different scripts. I’m not sure exactly how some of these would work, but I put in enough information so that we can discuss how we might be able to do what we are trying to achieve. We have an https endpoint that will accept pretty much any data that is sent to it via POST. We would like to use Powershell for some data collection from different hosts. The configuration referred to in the descriptions below is a minimal JSON configuration. We will likely have continued work over the next few months adding features and making changes to these scripts. Collect Windows event logs • Read configuration from https that defines which Windows eventlog sources should be collected • Collect logs from those sources (Application, Systems, Security, etc…) • Convert each event to JSON • POST logs to HTTPS endpoint • Ensure duplicate event logs are not sent Tail a file • Read configuration from https endpoint that defines which file or files should be read • Send error message over https if file is not accessible due to permissions • Collect new data from message that has not been collected yet • POST raw data to HTTPS endpoint • Duplicate data should not be collected • On restart of the script, the file reading should pick up where it left off • Should be tolerant of log rotation Basic performance metrics • Read configuration from https endpoint that defines which metrics should be gathered • Collect list of processes with RAM and CPU utilization • Collect average RAM utilization • Collect average CPU utilization • Collect list of hard disks, partitions, size, bytes used, and bytes free • POST JSON of data to HTTPS endpoint Basic Host Information • Collect information from Get-CimInstance Win32_OperatingSystem | FL * • Collect list of installed applications and versions • Collect list of Windows updates • Convert to JSON • POST JSON of data to HTTPS endpoint Find Majority of Log Sources • *I’m not sure if this can be easily done, but I would be open to devoting some funds to experimenting and researching. • Determine applications that are producing log files • Test if log file can be read • Export list of logs being produced, path, and if it is accessible • POST JSON of data to HTTPS endpoint
