Introduction
The state of California has been facing challenges in dealing with criminal activities. Many young people have joined gangs while others possess guns illegally. The state has been allocating money yearly to reduce crimes in the country. This paper is going to look into an article that addresses current budgeting issue in California’s area of justice administration.
An article of USC shooter who was jailed for forty years
The article was written in Los Angeles Times by Ryan Menezes. For the past few years crimes have increased in California. Many youths have joined gangs and are under the influence of drug abuse; others possess guns illegally. The state has budgeted money to help in reducing crimes committed by people, but the crimes have not reached the required level, many people especially youths still engage in criminal activities such as robbery and murder. On 22nd April 2014, Brandon Spencer was sentenced to forty years for trying to commit murder. He is serving a sentence to pay for four shots that he shot but killed no one at the University of Southern California during Halloween party. He was a former gang member.
