I have a MySQL database that stores all public data for a record label music (catalog, artists, label). It is to feed multiple websites, and also be accessed locally from Filemaker i.e. so needs to stay generic.
I need someone to create the Django code from scratch to display this information on the websites, including searching, browsing, category links, discrete URLs. The later stages of the website will incorporate user login/comment/social interaction/sharing and blog/news. I can take care of the final HTML/CSS presentation, but will at least need the HTML blocks (search etc) to work with. It feels doing it in chunks would be wise.
As mentioned, the MySQL database needs to remain generic for use across multiple sites/Filemaker. The aim is to administer the data from Filemaker locally e.g. adding a new song release, which then automatically filters through to all the websites. Only Django & Python should be used for this, and I'm really wanting to move away from relying on external systems e.g. Django's admin interface.
