Create a Leaderboard from API

Looking for help integrating information from Product Hunt's API into a WordPress site. Essentially I would like a leaderboard with the most upvoted products, but I want to be able to output the API data in 2 or 3 different ways. For example: 1) Running list of the most upvoted products of all time (set to refresh every X hours). 2) Running list of the most upvoted products of all time - IN A SPECIFIC CATEGORY (with a pulldown menu to choose the category, set to refresh every X hours). Importantly, I want to the data to be well designed. So there should be nice fonts, thumbnails - staying true to the clean style on pruducthunt.com. I'd also like to include the name of the maker, the hunter, the total votes, the comment #, the time since it was hunted - in each item pulled in the data. Let me know if you have questions.
