API for a browser-based asynchronous multiplayer games website

I'm going to keep it simple. I'm a guy with a group of friends spread out across the United States. We all love board games more than we love our jobs, so we frequently used [login to view URL] to play games with each other, taking asynchronous turns when we get a chance. However, the site admin no longer allows submissions of new games, and his recent server upgrades have slowed down the site significantly.
So, I want a website that hosts browser based asynchronous multiplayer games similar to: [login to view URL]
My request is that someone would program an API for such a website, whereas the games themselves can be made by others (players or myself). It would require log in, email, and graphical interface, but would also preferably be simple and light like [login to view URL], but by no means pretty and fancy.
