Configuring SMTP

I have a script, already installed on my domain. The script is running fine and as intended.
My issue is with outgoing mail. For instance, if someone forget their password, they are supposed to be able to request a password reset, through the automated portion of the script. To do so, requires that SMTP be setup and that is where I'm lost.
I have the URL to where my webhost details the SMTP and I have included, here the file that resides on my server that is the only file that needs configuring with the SMTP information.
Evidently, I'm doing something wrong. One file, no mail. I need help.
NOTE: The script is on a Laravel platform and the file I reference is an .env file. I just need the SMTP portion of the file properly configured. You do not even have to login to my webhost.
