[login to view URL] offers an API for downloading historical stock market data. Your job is to write a script that downloads all historical price data of approximately 3000 stocks into a MySQL table on my Linux (Ubuntu) PC and updates it daily. You may use HTML, XML, PHP or any other suitable and widely used programming language. Please state the languages you are planning to use in your bid, or I will not accept it. I put a premium on common languages and simplicity!
The MySQL table is to contain the following columns:
Ticker of stock
Date
Open
High
Low
Close
Volume
Ex-Dividend
Split Ratio
Adj. Open
Adj. High
Adj. Low
Adj. Close
Adj. Volume
I will be able to spot errors in the data, but I will not be able to help you correct erroneous code. The code must include clear comments that make it easy for any developer to correct or expand upon the code independently.

Note carefully that there is one table for every stock on [login to view URL] . However, the SQL database to which you will import the data contains only one table with all stocks.
Also note that there are two distinct parts of the job: First, you must create a database of all currently existing historical data. Then, you must also write a script that appends newly generated data every day. These tasks may be done with two separate pieces of code or with a single piece of code, whichever you think is more efficient.
