I need a blog-website for my father's sailing-around-the-world project. This is both design, and simple content adding.
For the underlying code, the job is really nothing fancy, all contents are static. The design should be nice, professional, modern, and visually appealing. Something at the very least like this: [login to view URL], but preferably nicer - You may build it from scratch, or use a template. Also you may use a wordpress as a CMS or built it from scratch if you want (HTML or PHP are both fine). Must be bi-lingual capable, on all pages: Danish and English, with English being default (little flags in upper right corner)
For the daily-log content, you will be provided with 60 pages of Danish Text and 60 pages of English text, in word format, with equal and consistent header-formatting (header 1 per year, header 2 per day. ~60 days over 3 years). You don't need to read or alter any of this text, but you do need to add each day as daily log-entries. You will also be provided with hundreds of nice vacation photos of that boat to scatter around the pages (can be at random locations, but must be visually appealing).
For a frontpage and "about the boat" page - I'd like for you to be creative about it. It's a sailing blog. It has some content now, and content will keep being updated, so allow for that. If you have specific good ideas, let me know. Put in photos as it fits. I'll give hundreds, or else stock if you have. Write stuff is great too (English is fine, just put "placeholder" for Danish and I fix later myself)
So basically: this can be as simply as a template and filling in some~60x2 entries plus pictures, and then I'll go for basic price. Or else convince me with a good idea of one or more extraordinary things, then I'll pay more.
Categories I'd give extra for include (but not limited to):
1) some sort of moving map function with historical boat-location tracking like this [login to view URL]
2) cool background-picture stuff (like this for example [login to view URL])
3) a particularly smooth method for updating and editing
4) creative user-interaction ideas, perhaps some way through facebook which my father also uses.
5) smart tips on getting more visitors for the page
