This project is to create a professional looking website. The website also has a store locator which must be based on google maps API, a one page dealer portal where users can download PDFs from and a catalog portion. The catalog portion also needs to be written in php along with the store locator and the dealer portal. But the catalog portion needs to invoke a java API.
Template for the website will be purchased and provided: [login to view URL]
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. This website cannot be used as a reference, and there should not be any pointers
such as URLs to it. The end client name should be kept confidential and the
developer has to sign an NDA. The developer also cannot contact the end client.
2. There are a total of 25 pages. 17 are static. Rest dynamic. We already have the
HTML for catalog portion. Will be handed once project is awarded along with colors
etc.
3. Developer must be available on skype and be ready for serious work during a few
Chicago business hours. We want to start soon.
4. Majority of pages follow the exact same template.
5. The template has too much junk and it is too many levels deep. Would like a better
organization. Remove all the css entries we don’t use. Remove all the images we
don’t use and remove all the folder levels. Make it an easy organization.
6. These will be just static pages.
7. All layout should be 1024 max width
8. Developer should use CSS2 and make and make the pages compatible with Safari, Firefox
3+, Chrome and IE 7 and IE 8.
9. Developer needs to take the template and make the pages look the way they are
designed
10. 10% of pages will change.
11. We may add about 10% of new pages. We think we have everything accounted
for, but there is always a possibility. If we add new, most likely the are going to be
fairly static pages.
12. Must include 6 months support for any bugs uncovered after delivery. Some minor
enhancements should be expected. Nothing major.
13. The site has to be installed by developer
14. Developer provides full inline documentation for the php pages in English for
development, logic and deliveries.
15. Some of these static pages may require some stock photos for “news”, “contact
us”, “literature”, etc.
16. All rights and licenses will be owned by the employer. Developer hands over all the
code with documentation along with db scripts, data and documentation. Also
includes instructions to configure IDE, compile and deploy.
17. Will use a single CSS file
18. Popups will be javascript, and the background becomes grey when they open
19. Developer first finishes the (a) static HTML, (b) then the HTML for the store locator
and dealer portal, (c) then php development for and then the catalog in that order
20. Upload the developed work directly to our server before release of funds. We have
to check the work somewhere before releasing.
21. Developer is responsible to provide exact written instructions to load and manage
the table data
22. Developer will fix the bugs on a timely basis and in less than 2 days once reported
23. Need a property file on the web server to put all the properties in for php side of
things
24. Add logging so we know what the user is clicking and surfing. All user actions must
be logged with session id and timestamp. All usage logs should go into a database
table called AP_MO_LOGS. Table fields: (CLIENT_ID, ACTION, STEP, TEXT,
USER QUERY, SESSION_ID, DATESTAMP, USERNAME). When a user takes
each action, an entry will be inserted in this table. Once a month a cron tab, has to
transfer the entries to a separate table and purge this table. Logging must also be
asynchronous so performance is not compromised.
25. Site must be fast and performance must be optimal for usage and not sluggish.
26. All variable names must be given good naming convention.
See the attached ZIP for the mockups and rest of requirements.
