Hello
I have a small working project in VB which uses a Browser control on the main Form to display images. The image is displayed in the project's own small Browser window when a file is selected from a list which is also on the main form. However I would like also to be able to view PDF files in this Browser window. I know I can install the free Adobe Reader which installs it's own plug-in into IE which also enables me to see PDFs in my Browser control BUT it is too slow in loading up before it shows the PDF image (Adobe loads up a LOT of stuff like APIs etc..); I need a quicker way to view PDF's in the Browser in my project.
So I think I just need to embed an activeX or dll or OCX or something into my own project which I can simply use or call up from my existing code within my project so that when I select a PDF file in my project's file list window, (which is just a simple list box) the PDF is displayed in my built in Browser window.
I suspect that there is probably a free PDF plug-in dll or ocx or something available which I could use with my project. We may even be able to just use the neccessary files from Adobe Reader to achieve a browser plug-in rather than having to open the full compliment of Adobe Reader files each time when just wishing to view a PDF in the Browser.
If an OCX or DLL or something exists already that I can use or if you know of a way inwhich I can achieve what I am trying to do then I would need you to either code it into my existing project or you can just show me the neccessary code and the required dll/ocx that I would need and I can possibly insert this into my existing project myself.
I hope this is clear and makes sense.
Thank you very much.
Greg
