A private web application (simple design), which allows user to upload XLS (excel 2003-2007) file in the browser. The file is attached, it has always the same number of sheets (5) and always the structure of the sheets is the same (number of columns, titles...). The only thing that vary is number of rows (companies).
So, when the file is uploaded - all sheets from xls file should be stored in the database (mysql) in whatever way you think is the best. Then it gives him back the file, again in xls format (not csv), with multiple sheets (the second attachment) again always with the same structure. Most of the cells are copied from the imported xls file, actually always with the same pattern (every third cell...) and some are also copied from some sheets but is given a formula to display the results properly.
So, the point is: Make a web app that will import xls file into the database, then gives back to download the new multi-sheets xls file with the calculated cells based on the sheets from imported file and based on some formulas: for example, Sheet1 > cell D > every third cell, multiple by 0.05. (always basic formular)
