Complete Auction Website

This project is for a complete web auction site, with a focus on local bidders in a local bid environment. Design must be professional in nature, visually appealing and attractive, as well scalable for quick growth. Special consideration will be given to bidders experienced with auction sites, especially those with clear samples of existing auction sites. Technical Requirements All code should be based on php, css, html, javascript Database access built on MySQL Pages should degrade gracefully for non-js enabled viewers Instructions to setup and configure the site Color palette to be determined. ## Deliverables Web Auction Site This project consists of a complete Web Auction site. The site and workflow should follow the simplistic nature of EBay, allowing for simple navigation, adding of auction items, and basic user management. However, the core focus will be on auctions based in the local community, so local details will be important. Each listing must be paid for in advance, with pricing options for a single listing, or a discounted rate for multiple listings. Basic site features: - Auction categories, similar to ebay categories such as: o electronics->phone->iphone o electronics->computer->dell o vehicle->car->mercedes o vehicle->truck->ford - User accounts - Auction item details - Payment User registration and authentication by email. User details to include: - username - password - email - name, address, city, state, zip/postal code, country - cell phone - company - project - account balance (used for listing items) - listing history - purchase history - notification alerts by text or email, based on current bids or watched items - rating Auction items and details will be entered by the user, and consist of the following: - Payment for listing - Item name - Item manufacturer - Item description - Item version - Item UPC code - User uploaded pictures - Category (to which this auction is assigned) - Local company (to which this auction is assigned) - Local Project (to which this auction is assigned ) - Accepted methods of payment (credit card through site, cash, check, etch) Site search must be available, with the following auction fields being searched: - City, State/Province - Zip/Postal - Items located within a given distance from an address - Company - Project - Item name - Item manufacturer - Item description - Item version - Item UPC code Ad Content - The site should be designed to allow ads for local advertisers. Seller/Buyer Ratings - Similar to ebay and other auction sites. The project will be completed when the code, pages, and documentation have been received, including setup and configuration details so we can confirm the site works as specified. The basis for this auction site will be focused on connecting people in local companies/communities with specific items for sale. This means we need to collect and identify Users by their address, the company they work for, and their proximity to other local businesses/users. The process will involve a user listing an item for sale, including several key pieces of information about that item, as well as one or more pictures of the item. Another user searching for an item will be able to locate desired auctions by searching one or more of the following fields: UPC Code Item name, Description Company, Branch, Job function Within a distance from a specified address Basic User Information - Authenticate by Email / Password. User should be authenticated by email and clicking on a link for verification - Name - Address - Multiple email addresses - Gender - User Ratings, and allow ratings / feedback / responses by buyer/seller - Company. The User should be able to select from a list of companies, or add a company to the list as necessary. - Project associated with item - History of purchases and items sold - Payment information (current balance, payment methods, etc) Item Information - Name - Manufacturer - Description - UPC Code - Pictures - Category - Select from a list of categories.
