**You need to design an Extranet site using PostNuke 0.7.6.1, I do not need anything fancy, just need it quickly. Will have to include REGISTER and LOGIN options, and also have differenct permissions set for users, e.g. staff will have greater access than customers. Basket will be used for customers to show their account, which customer can view, add or empty. Just like this, everything else on the site should be how a normal online shopping site would be. ****This project is for a company named Carols Celebration Cakes (CCC), a basic company logo needs to be designed. It is however due to financial constraints that they have decided to limit their e-Business activity. They place considerable amount of importance on business communication with their business customers and so they have decided to confine their e-Business strategy to one of supporting the business customer through the use of an Extranet. This is envisaged to reduce their operational costs and help provide better customer service.** Due to financial constraints, Carolhas decided to confine the e-Business strategy to just one aspect of the business. The focus of the e-Business strategy is to be on provision of services and business processes to enable the business customer to interact with [CCC][1]. **_The deliverable of this project is an Extranet._** You are NOT to produce a feasibility report. On the other hand your business initiatives and your strategies for the development and maintenance of the information infrastructure should be clearly identifiable on the Extranet. For example a CCC employee should be able to keep information such as product details up to date. **1. The Internet Business Scope (30%)** You need to develop ideas for the development of Internet-based business for better customer experience, order fulfilment, and revenue generation. You need to develop an organisational approach and demonstrate that you comprehend the significance of the Internet technology as an opportunity for the development of alternative business strategies. In particular and at a minimum, the structure and the content of the site should infer and indicate: * CCC's business culture * CCC's organisational structure * CCC's goals and aspirations * Products and service, including after sale services **2. Knowledge Plan (30%)** You should have a plan for the knowledge management aspects of the e-Business venture. Extranet is for the provision of information as well as enabling some of the business processes. The Extranet site must infer and identify clear strategies for comprehensive management of knowledge that is required to support the e-Business strategy under consideration. For example at a minimum there should be provisions for; * gathering useful information from various sources such as customers * up loading information * clear dissemination of information including inclusion of external sources of information * clear indication of how information is used to enhance customer interaction, order fulfilment and business revenue * clear indication of strategies for keeping the information up to date, reducing information overload and enhancing the quality of information In other words through exploring the Extranet, it should be easy to apprehend the development and maintenance of knowledge that is required to support the customer, fulfil business processes, give advice and provide after sale service, and increase revenue through alternative channels of product and service provision. **3. e-Business Infrastructure analysis, design and implementation (40%)** You need to have a good understanding of the architecture that would enable the e-Business strategy that you have developed in Sections one and two and also of the requirements in terms of hardware and software. You must choose appropriate technologies to develop the extranet and host it on appropriate hardware and software platforms.
