Update SQL text field from ASP page using command object

I'm trying to Update a TEXT datatype in SQL 2000 via a stored procedure called from a webpage using ADO. I'm getting the following error: [login to view URL] error '800a0d5d' Application uses a value of the wrong type for the current operation. /employers/[login to view URL], line 48 None of the obvious solutions have worked.
