We would like someone to develop a time clock and attendance tracking system that will allow us to keep track of our employees time. We are currently using AttendView ([url removed, login to view] has a trial version for download) but it does not provide the features we need and it provides some that we don't want. Never the less, it gives you a reference.
This application should run on Windows 95 and above and should have a database housed on the main server so that all networked computers (including the server itself) can access the punch in / out system. We would even consider a web based solution. Please send your ideas with your bid. If the database can be built into the application it would be easier to install and manage.
We will need a single installation wizard to install everything properly. We envision adding employee records through a management control panel within the software.
Users need to be able to punch in, punch out, punch away from desk and input an explanation to be seen by other users, and they also need to be able to view the status of other employees (in/out/away with reason), and view reports of their own time selected by date range.
Managers need to be able to do all of the above but they need to be able to view reports of any employee, selected employees, or all employees.
There would be break policies and we also like the schedule and excessive hour notification features in AttendView. Please offer suggestions for features that you would reccomend. We currently are a small company and do not devide employees by department.
One example of a policy would be as follows: Currently, Attend View allows configuration for paid breaks. There are rules for break one and break 2. In our software, there would be the additional functionality to bypass these rules and simply consider all breaks under X minutes paid up to a total of X minutes per day.
This should not be an exact clone of AttendView. We prefer that some creativity is used (once ideas are approved by us).

The desired application will run on on a minimum of Windows 95/98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
