Hi,
We are seeking to hire a freelancer who has the skills to complete a serious job over the course of several months.
IMPORTANT READING: [login to view URL]
This is a program that can be downloaded ([login to view URL]) and used to reconstruct websites salvaged from our web host for which we no longer have backups. It crawls [login to view URL] and pieces together a 'backup' which can be reuploaded to rescue a site. It also has the option to crawl Google's cache for files. NOTE: WE WANT TO CRAWL [login to view URL] ONLY.
This is a 3 stage process! Please see:
1) Run Warrick - for each backup the first step is for you to run Warrick, allow it to query [login to view URL], and put together a ZIP folder of backed up files.
2) Strip internal deadlinks - this is a CRUCIAL step in the process. Some backups will not capture every file and therefore some images/pages/PDFs etc may be missing. YOU WILL NEED TO DEVELOP A SCRIPT to remove every internal deadlink from a backup. External links will remain but every internal link referenced that is not present in the ZIP backup must be removed. The anchor text of the link will remain but the links producing 404s must be removed automatically using your script.
+ SOMETIMES (3) Advertising code placement - on some (approx. 25%) of websites we will need AdSense advertising code replacing between 1-3 times per page depending on the amount of text content on pages. You will need to develop a basic script to run through the backup and place the code automatically before delivering the ZIP. We will instruct you which sites require ad placement and provide the code and frequency per page.
After this you will need to deliver the final ZIP backup. At present we need to take delivery of approx. 75 lost sites. Most of them are very small content/informational websites with a few larger blogs too.
Once we have found a suitable candidate you will be asked to complete a trial run. We will pay you $75 for the first trial run and if successful, a per hour wage thereafter for ongoing work over many months.
I look forward to discussing the project with committed bidders!
