Write an Android application

We were thrilled to release the original MEVA Application that provided a “gateway to information” for Uzbek farmers, particularly those involved in orchard and vineyard production. The App provided in depth information and tools to support optimal species selection, equipment and input purchasing, integrated pest management, orchard and vineyard management, and investment planning. Information is presented through interactive displays that are complete with pictures, customized “calculators” to support decision making, safety information, and links to additional resources. The existing app can be found at: [login to view URL] We are working on a new project that requires the mobile phone application to be developed anew or modified based on the existing successful model of MEVA application with a view of fitting in to existing time and resource budgets. The mobile phone application is to allow the small holder farmers in the following countries: Algeria, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan to benefit from practical solutions (through the practical tips and tricks section) and background knowledge (through manuals and publications section) in the following agricultural themes: agricultural biotechnology, agro-tourism, aquaculture, horticulture, irrigation and water management, livestock, management of farmer-based organizations, pasture management, product marketing and public-private partnerships, as well as other areas that might be of relevance/interest for the small-holder farmers in the above-mentioned countries. The structure of solutions, the design of the application, and other important aspects should build on the best practices developed during the implementation of MEVA application.
