Android interface to microchip wifi/tcp

Project is mostly complete but previous freelancer could not finish the job. android app is a interface for a microchip that controls some motors and reads from sensors. problems with the app is that the automatic wifi connection isnt as stable as I want it to be. app needs a display interface changer, for different set-ups. and app uses too much battery over time.
project is in android studio, and layouts are done in json.
