Hi, I'm probably one of the few Mechanical Engineers on Freelancer that has actually used a ball joint press and other ball joint removal tools to remove and replace all ball joints on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee and a friends 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I totally understand the need for a faster, safer, easier method of removing ball joints. I know exactly what the tool needs to do and I have the exact experience with the space the tool needs to fit into. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University. I personally own SOLIDWORKS 2019, 2018, and 2016. I am a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) and I have a Dropbox setup so we can easily collaborate with large files or share many files. *For the tool design I envision a high torque output, portable, brushless or hydraulic system, that's a battery operated power tool, where the tool can easily attach to the geometry of the car for stability of operation and to take up the torque load. I am very adept at building rapid, fully functioning, prototypes with off the shelf parts so I could have a working prototype within a few weeks. Please understand that this is not a 7 day design project. Good design takes time and to have a working prototype to test is priceless feedback that would go into the final CAD work.
