I’m looking for a dev/ops person to create a wordpress chef recipe and role to replace our current one. If you’re a dev/ops person with Chef skills and knowledge on setting up wordpress on Ubuntu or Fedora in Amazon EC2, then please quote on the following work:
The script should be able to setup a production and a staging wordpress website on Amazon EC2. The wordpress code should be stored in git. I can provide a sample wordpress git repo if you need it, but downloading wordpress and adding it to git should be trivial. The chef code should be stored in git. When you’re done, please send through the instructions on how I can clone the repo and how I should use it. See [login to view URL] as an example.
I’ll be examining your code for the following qualities:
- readbility of the code. I must be able to understand what you’ve done
- maintainability. It must be able to be maintained by the other engineers in our team
- security. It should consider security issues. If there are obvious issues such as keeping passwords in plain text, then I will consider the work as undelivered.
I’m looking to trial the wordpress chef script with 3 freelancers and then the best of the three will assist with setting up additional wordpress migration and chef server scripts. There is scope for further dev/ops work with automating Ruby on Rails installations using Passenger and Nginx as well.
