Visit Customs Authority in Algiers Port To Submit our Request Letter

I am a law practitioner from India. One of my client's cargo is stuck at Algiers Port. The buyer is from Algiers city and has defaulted in making payment. We want to call back the cargo and re-export it from Algiers to India. As per customs rule, the shipper needs NOC from the consignee to re-export the cargo but the buyer is not co-operating. This is a case of cheating and fraud. We are under talks with several law firms in Algeria to file a case but as a last chance, we want to solve it out without involving legal machinery.

We have drafted a letter addressing the customs authority and need a competent person who can visit the customs office to submit our letter and have a small talk with the officer-in-charge to understand his views over the matter. We want below work to be done on our behalf -

1) Take 02 print copies of our letter which we send you by email. Submit one copy to the customs office in person and receive back another copy with their acknowledgement stamp. Send us the acknowledged copy by email.

2) Meet the officer in charge to discuss the options available to re-export our cargo which is lying unattended at Algiers port.

3) Call-up the buyer on our behalf and check if he is in Algeria and visit the location where his premises are. He lives and does business in Algiers city as per our information. We will give his contact number and address which you can verify at your end by calling and visiting.

4) Prepare a full summary of the task you undertook, people you met with contact details, photos or other proofs of meeting the buyer (if possible), what discussions undertook with the buyer and customs officer and other such relevant works. All the details you submit must be substantiated with documentary proofs.

Note: Language of communication (including summary as discussed above) with us must be English only.

This is a very simple task but language and location are our main limitations. Hence, we need your support.

We have regular works of such nature which involve a local person due to language and location barrier. It does not need professional skills but enthusiasm and a go-getting attitude.
