We are seeking to work with an R expert who is highly experienced in data analysis, data visualization, and graph-making in R. We have an R task which will require the freelancer to independently load a csv data file, write custom R syntax to create 5 graphs for individual students (in rows).
To briefly explain about the data set, 221 students have completed a research study in which they give twice daily reports of various emotions, like happiness, sadness, and stress, each weekday for two weeks--a total 9 days (1 missing day due to school holiday). In addition, students completed 10 days of evening surveys using the same questionnaire--a total 10 days. Our goal is to create visually appealing graphs that display the day-to-day trends in 5 emotion reports for ALL individual students.
Please see the attached example for a mockup created as a guide. The graphs in this mockup, however, was not created with R, so there may be some elements that could be better done in R. This is where we ask that you use your better judgement to make adjustments.
We would like to allow some creativity for design and efficiency purposes. If you feel that another way to do something would be better, we are open to discussing your interpretation and appreciate you taking the initiative to make the project better.
As final outputs, we request to be given copies of all data files and R syntax files used to complete the tasks. Please read the attached word doc for more specific guidelines about visual attributes in the R graphs and other details. Also, see the attached excel data file (.csv).
In terms of work process, as a first step, we will need to confirm the prototype (e.g., an example of R graph output in png and its corresponding R syntax). Once we determine the exact visual attributes of the graphs, we will request the R programmer to produce all 221 individual students' 5 graphs for each emotion--happy, sad, angry, optimistic, and stress.
