I am seeking a comprehensive list (several hundred at least) of workplace hazards broken up by energy source category or a short description of how the harm occurs. For example:
• Biological – bacteria, viruses, needlestick, animals, plant, insects etc
• Chemical – toxicants, acids, insecticides, pesticides etc
• Physical – electricity, radiation, pressure, noise, heights, vibration, cuts, abrasions, lacerations etc
• Ergonomic – Manual handling, workplace design, job and task etc
• Psychosocial – Stress, violence etc
• Environmental – dust, fire, oil and other spills etc
The purpose is for people to be able to select from a database the source of workplace harm. For example, if they decide that chemicals is a hazard in the job they are going to do, they can pick from a list of chemical hazards such as:
• Burns to hand from touching acid
• Choking on smoke contaminants
• Or physical hazards such as:
• Hitting other people or vehicles with moving plant
• Equipment failure
• Material falling from crane
You will need to provide in an excel spreadsheet they hazard source and then how the hazard could harm.
