Task Overview Jones & Frank maintains a database of on-site, customer owned equipment (aka ‘installed products’) in our service management system. The Installed Product dataset consists of several fields including but not limited to serial number information, make / model of equipment, location information, a warranty start date, and a warranty end date for each piece of serialized equipment. There can be multiple serialized products tracked for each customer site. We wish to cleanse/update our current installed product database using information supplied by our OEM partner. Detailed task requirements • Cross-reference OEM-supplied data set of approximately 42K records to our Service system dataset using site address, city & state. This will require data format homogenization between the addresses on both datasets to adhere to USPS address standards. • Identify matched products at each site using serial number field from both data sources. For serial number records matched between both data sets, confirm our existing system dataset reflects the OEM-supplied warranty dates. • Identify serial numbers in the OEM supplied data set that are missing from our service management database and create .csv file for us to upload. • Identify duplicate serial number records within the dataset derived from our service system database and provide a .csv file of the duplicates.
