A Handy Powerpack is often the ideal power supply for battery operated devices. The LiPo battery has a very high energy density at high capacity and the packs have internal protection functions against overcurrent as well as an integrated charging circuit with power management.

Once the battery pack is installed in a device, however, it becomes difficult. Although the packs usually have a power button, this is no longer accessible after installation in a device. In order to put the button outside, it would be necessary to open the pack and intervene. Both is problematic.

However, most battery packs have an automatic load detection and switch on automatically when a load is plugged into the output. But you can't switch off the battery pack either.

The present circuit with an ATTINY4 in combination with a MOSFET solves this problem.
